IndoChine Resort & Villas Review

I stayed in the Indochine Resort and Villas in the Patong area of Phuket. I booked using Expedia, which at the time was cheaper than the direct website, which required payment upfront. It is about a 10-minute ride from Patong Beach, closer to Kathu. It is about a 45-minute ride from the Phuket airport (HKT). I prepaid for a car through Phuket Connect Transfers to the hotel instead of the shuttle bus. I chose the car over the shuttle bus since I heard stories of shuttles not taking you directly to the hotel but instead shopping you around for different tours.

Interestingly enough, the car driver that I reserved never showed up due to a car accident. I wasn’t notified because the company tried to call me, and my phone was off due to flying. I didn’t use a voice plan while traveling. I found a friendly taxi driver to take me to the hotel. I negotiated my price before getting in the car and stated multiple times that I wanted to go directly to the hotel. I presented my passport to the front desk for a copy when I arrived. The bellhop took me up to the villa and took my baggage in.

Phuket Indochine Three Bedroom Villa 508

The villa was spacious, with two living rooms, a kitchen, and a small dining table for 4. It also had three bathrooms and a private pool with a gorgeous view. The room was spotless, and I arrived with a decorated bed because I let the hotel know I was celebrating my birthday.

A few pros and cons of IndoChine Resort & Villas

  • The breakfast buffet was included in our cost. The food was good, consisting of pancakes, an omelet station, and local cuisine. When we had an early morning tour set up, I called the front desk the day before to ask for breakfast, and they made a nice to-go plate for the entire group.
  • Comfortable beds: After such a long flight, the bed was perfect. I have read some different opinions, but for Villa 508, they are great.
  • Wi-Fi access in the villa was good; however, I believe the router was programmed only to hold a certain number of devices, so some of us had issues connecting.
  • Friendly and Helpful Staff
  • Shuttle into Patong six times a day.
  • The hotel restaurant has good food and is decently priced.
  • Very spacious villa
  • There is an additional restaurant across from the hotel that offers good food.

  • There is no television in the 3rd downstairs bedroom or downstairs living room.
  • The upstairs bathrooms of the villa have many windows instead of walls and traditional ceilings, so you can hear every creature outside.
  • There was no stereo, which is not a deal breaker, but for that size villa, it would have been nice to have music.
  • Some of the walls and curtains showed normal wear and tear.

All in all, I would stay at the IndoChine Resort and Villas again. I would recommend it to those looking to be close to Patong yet away from the nightlife of Patong and Bangla Road at night.
